1/72 Academy P-51B
This is one of my more current buillds but still a bit old as I have not been able to buld much in the past few years because of work. This is the the Acadamy P-51B. I think the decals were Superscale. The paint was Model master OD green faded with MM "faded OD green. I used a full Eduard PE cockpit set with this one and True Details resin wheels along with stainless steel tubing for the gun barrels. I took this one to many contests, but it never won anything. It is just probably one of those where others were seeing things I was not. It is however still one of my favorites. The funny thing is I had started this kit and made many mistakes and put it away. It just goes to show never give up on a kit. If you are having problems put it away and come back to it later.
That's gotta be a record, Geoff...you must have writin' your article at the same time. My T-33 lasted about 2 minutes as the headliner! oh well...wins some - lose some. Nice build, by the way.

My first impression was that this has got to be a 1/48 scale kit, but that wasn’t the case! I like the OD surface, looks worn and faded in a natural way.

Thank you Rickard. Now that I look at the photos they are not good. I have them in much more clear. Well, this is the best I can do for now.
Nice build and I certainly agree on the kit, it is really very nice! I did one in German markings a few years ago.
