Civil War Horseman

November 25, 2012 in Uncategorized

This was my first attempt at a large scale figure (and horse). I wanted to build this for my son-in-law who is a big fan of the Civil War history living a short distance from Gettysburg. This is a resin model so the parts were glued with CA. I used ModelMaster enamels for paint.

  1. I see you’ve got no problem at all with figures…..nice!

  2. Craig…. well it took me quite awhile to complete, as I quit on it for a couple of years, don’t remember why though. I was pleased with the results and hated to give it away, but isn’t that the way it always happens? I have several more in the works. I am trying out acrylic paints with some success, and I think I will advance to oils soon. I just purchased Sheperd Paine’s book Building and Painting Scale Figures, so I’m excited to explore new worlds.

  3. Jack, you achieved and excellent result with this figure, especially for been your first attempt! I hope one day been able to do something like this.!
