Revell 1/32 P-51 B/C

November 25, 2012 in Aviation

I normally shy away from anything with the Revell name attached to it (old habits die hard), but I wanted to do a Red Tail version and this kit seemed [at the time], just the ticket. The raised panel lines and rivets (lotsa rivets) made the NMF a real bear to accomplish and trying to weather it didn’t prove too easy a task either. I’d put this build into the category of it “looks good from far, but far from good”.

  1. I think it looks good….. rivets and all. You seem to get a nice finish without using Alclad, something I was never able to do.

  2. Give that “buffable metalizer” by Model Master a try…rattle cans. It’s really pretty easy – spray it on and take an old t-shirt and rub away. Wear some cotton gloves, though or else you’ll have it all over your hands when handling the model.
