1/48 Promodeler Ju 87R-2

Nicely detailed kit with some basic photoetch from . The hardest part was masking the canopy framing! The decals are from Aeromaster just for something different than those that were supplied in the box. This was one of my first attempts at using a post shading technique.

  1. Very nice Keith. The post shading worked out well.

  2. No trouble giving this beauty a 10. Wonderful craftsmanship and real talent.

  3. Another stunner! You did a good job on the post-shading technique too. What is the kit like to build?

    • Hello Charles,
This is a re-box of Hasegawa's Ju 87R-2 it has a few minor issues with accuracy and fit but overall it's a very easy build. The biggest issue for me was getting the canopy framing right, since all that glass could make or break the finished kit and you have to do both the inside and outside framing. My solution to the inside framing was to paint the excess material from a Squadron fast frame grey. This was then cut into very fine strips. As the material is self adhesive it made short work of the interior framing. The outside just took patience, a little help from a Eduard mask, and Gunze masking fluid. The rear gunners mount is a bit tricky as it's circular and took a few attempts (keep the toothpicks and Windex handy for touch ups).

      Good luck
      Keith
