Hasegawa 1/32nd Messerschmitt Bf109G-6 “Tall Tail”

December 30, 2012 · in Aviation · · 6 · 3.8K

A beneficiary of the tail swap I mentioned in a previous article, this one also features an MDC cockpit and wheels, Cutting Edge exhausts, and an Eagle Editions spinner. Paints are Floquil RLM74/75/76, 04 Gelbe, and RLM66 on the canopy frame. Decals are a combination of Eagle Editions, Aeromaster, and Mike Grant's Werke Nummer sheet.

WNr. 442013 was flown by none other than 220-victory Ace Hpt. Anton Hafner, Staffelkapitaen of 10./JG-51, while based near Essen in the Fall of 1944. Hafner lost his life in this machine on October 17, 1944 when his wing clipped a tree during a high speed, low level chase against a flight of P-38's.

  1. Ehh, another model by a Chief Petty Officer (Rule 1: The Chief is always right. Rule 2: when in doubt, refer to rule 1.)

It's getting booorrrrriiiiiinnnnnnngggg clicking to the last star! They're all like this!

  2. Erik,
do something really pedestrian JUST to prove that you are mortal.

  3. We need a Bo Derek award. A little figure at the end of the Ten Stars lights up after six "Ten" votes. Oh yes, a niggle as if there were a problem... not enough photo's.

I'm going to have rethink my "A" game for the New Year.

  4. Erik ..love the cock-pit detail work .. SUPERB model ..really clean lines ..a class job, "off the charts" ...
