Nichimo 1/48th Ki-45 ‘Toryu’ OOB Dual Build

December 2, 2012 in Aviation

This pair of Nichimo Ki-45s was built with no extras other than seatbelts. These had been in my stash for years and I’d also obtained the Hasegawa kit, so I decided to build these first since I was in the mood for a quick no fuss project. I considered cutting out and replacing the wingtip nav lights with clear stock, but was too lazy and just painted them on- so they’re kind of an eyesore. Paints were Floquil (sprayed freehand with my Grex) except for WEM red brown primer on the propellers & spinners. Decals on Ito’s overall green machine were from Aeromaster, those on Yamamoto’s were obtained via Arawasi.

  1. “Da Chief” strikes again! More boring Whipple Models, *all* done to the same excellent standard. 🙂

  2. Erik, another great job. You and I have similar interests, and similar kits in the stash!
