Hasegawa 1/48 Zero Family-pt. 2
Here are some more Hasegawa 1/48 Zeros. The A6M2 Model 11, A6M2 Model 21, and the A6M2-K trainer in bright orange. The latter is from Hasegawa's 65th anniversary limited-edition Zero box set released in 2005. The A6M2-K is now available as an individual release, as is the 12-shi prototype.
The trainer is very different from the standard A6M2 in obvious ways, but the deleted tail-cone and exposed framing for target towing are of interest, as well as the lack of full main gear doors, and aft fuselage strengthening ribs.
I do an orange Japanese plane whenever I get the chance; I love the brightness of the color. The A6M2 with the blue fuselage band is a model 11 operating in China in 1940-41, and the other with the yellow tail stripes is a model 21 from the Akagi, which participated in the attack on Pearl Harbor, and was almost certainly lost at Midway.
Hasegawa's 1/48 Zero family is one of my favorite series of kits, and I never get tired of doing them. They are each a little bit different!

More 10s for the bunch. They looked great last month.
They certainly are terrific models and build very well. Plus, they have all the main varients included in the A6M kits. Tamiya has released a new tooled A6M, but they are extremly limited in the marks covered.
