ICM 1/48 LaGG-3 Ser.7

January 2, 2013 · in Aviation · · 12 · 2.6K

This is a nice little kit, and a reasonable build. First painted green/black, then oversprayed with tones of white, then grubbed up more than I am usually comfortable with. I also used an Color Zoom Interior that I found at a deep discount-good thing, as it's hardly visible. Red 46 was part of the 3rd Guard Fighter Regiment of the Baltic Fleet Air Force (try saying that fast in ANY language!), Leningrad area, 1942. The photos indicate she needs a tune-up, as the right side cylinders are running far too rich;)

  1. I'm not familiar with the type, Bryan (what's new, right?)...are those ducts near the wing root(s) some sort of cooling intake? Regardless of my ignorance, it's a nice-lookin' build anyway.

  2. Perfectly turned LaGG! Model of firm ICM makes this all possible. One might even rub the winter camouflage, making it more threadbare, but so looks very good.

  3. Nice LaGG-3, Bryan! They do look great in white wash... did you encounter any fit or alignment issues with this kit?

  4. Nice work indeed. Maxim's right that you could make the winter finish more "craptacular" without any problem.

  5. Very nice job. I have that kit in the stash. Thanks for sharing!

  6. Excellent, LaGG!
