North American B-10NA "Mustang"At the 1944 19.Juli the American pilot 1LT Curtis Simpson of the 4th FG of the US air force had to make an emergency landing with his "Mustang" Kamp aircraft due to engine overheating at the time field base of EMS, which was normal. The investigation revealed that the linear motor for the cooler damper actuation was blocked, why the radiator flap in the ¾ remained closed, which then led to the mentioned motor overheating.Since then no information about the start length on grass slopes were known of this type, the P-51 had to be dismantled and transported by rail to Dübendorf.After the internment of the Assembly took place on the 1st, 1944, and a test flight. Model and AssemblyThe model is a Kit in scale 1: 48 with Swiss-decals, Nr: 61042the Assembly of this beautiful and interesting Kit went ahead well. Everything fit well and had not filled, the inside of the Cokpites was painted with cockpit green Matt. As the machine finished goldcomposed was I with -basic paint primed, overlaid a fine coating with aluminum Humbrol. As this color was dried, I have front part bonnet with white and the white stripes and crosses for the neutrality of painting sprayed, another step was still the red color sprayed the rest who Strip and border of crosses.Down came the invasion stripes on the front wing sprayed black paint, layer on the upper part of the hood one olive-grey Matt.The gear shafts are painted with green grass Matt.To attach to the lettering was a layer gloss coated, after the remaining lettering attached and dry again with gloss coated, with silk matt finish given the last. Registration J-900 was not placed on the original.

  2. Nice lookin' build, William...looks kinda strange seein' a P-51 as colorful as yours. OK, not strange exactly, but shall we say unique? Good work.

  3. Yes the Swiss air force had some colourful birds in the second world war, a few are followed
