1/48 Hasegawa F6F-3 Hellcat

May 7, 2013 · in Aviation · · 10 · 2.9K

I decided to pull the venerable kit out of the pile and slap it together. I started about 10 days ago, and had it built in about 4 days. The rest of the time was spent painting and weathering.

As ususal, it's built OOB.
acrylic paints.
Aeromaster decals.
Added an antennae tensioner from solder.
EZ-Line antennae.
Testors enamel wash in the panel lines.

  1. An excellent work James! It looks perfect to me, a clean and careful built, with a great paint job and nice weathering. I like it!

    cheers mate

Cool Hellcat - i like the 3 colour scheme on these aircraft. A clean bird with no stores ordinance, not even the obligatory fuel tank! Hellcats kinda remind me of the Thunderbolt in their utilitarian design...great model James.

  5. looks great...quick build is the way to go...prevents burnout

  6. Nice work, Jim. Too fast, but nice work.

  7. There's a small problem: You have painted an F6F-5 like an F6F-3. Nice work, but...
