Minicraft 1/144th B-52

May 23, 2013 in Aviation

I hardly ever attempt anything in this [small] scale, but this was “big enough” to allow my shaky fingers and failing eyesight to have a go. It was a pretty basic [read: easy] assembly and paint job, but I’m pretty sure something about it will be ‘incorrect’ to the BUFF experts. I think it’s an “H” model, but I could be wrong. I thought I was wrong once before, but I was mistaken – lol 🙂 Anyhow, I had fun and that’s all that counts.

  1. looks like a great kit…and how big would you want a b-52…nice job

    • Thanks…well, let’s compare sizes – let me rephrase that – let’s look at the possibilities : 32nd scale would be out of the question, 48th scale would be “manageable”, I suppose, and 72nd scale would probably be the ideal size. 1/144th scale was the cheapest (I rest my case).

  2. Good looking “BUFF”, think politically correct. I find it hard to believe shaky fingers good get those decals on straight.

  3. I like that! Did you make the stand?

First airplane I ever saw up close was a B-52B at Biggs AFB back home. I was five years old and still remember like it was yesterday.

And copy on the shaky fingers and failing eyesight!!

    • Those stands (when I got them – 4 different sizes) came from Micro-Mark. I don’t know if they carry ’em any more or not, but I HAVE seen ’em before and they’re still available – somewhere. Try Google – or Hyperscale (somebody there will know). Thanks.
