Trumpeter MiG-15 in 1/32 scale

May 10, 2013 · in Aviation · · 5 · 5K

This one is an early (very early) release, generously given to me by a friend who chickened out when he opened the box. This is not intended to be unfair to Trumpeter, who have given us some superb kits, but like with any 'new boy' there was a learning curve to be climbed.

I like a challenge & I feel reasonably happy with the result, although it took many hours of sanding, scraping, filling etc before I completed it. I should add that the MiG was built about six years ago after having been hidden in my mate's stash for a long time. There are a few after market bits here; flaps, canopy & cockpit interior. Paint (I think) was Alclad & decals from the spares box. Hope you like it.

Cheers,

Tony

  1. A definite silk purse from a definite sow's ear!

  2. Dunno 'bout the 'sow's ear' part, but it looks good from here. Like your background, too.

  3. That MiG looks great! I love the finish and the shading of the panel lines. It's a beauty.

  4. Tony, Great job on the MiG! I've been working on this kit for about 4yrs on and off…Currently on the “Belt Sander” and re-scribing ” phase of the build so I have empathy/admiration for your work.

  5. that's lovely
