1931 Rolls Royce Phantom II Convertible

June 12, 2013 · in Automotive · · 6 · 3.7K

I built this on commission from the very old 1/24th kit. Surprisingly for it's age it went together rather well. He had the kit and when he gave it to me to build it was missing quite a few parts. I had to search around and I found a built model on. I bought it and stripped it for the parts I needed. Granted it would have been easier with a complete kit but it worked. I'm not normally a car builder but I have done three cars for this gentleman plus a number of airplanes and a PT boat. Overall it was fun to build.

  2. Your a man after my own heart Frank. I truly enjoy building these old classics. You've done this one proud & along with the Johan "Gold Cup" kits they were state of the art for their day & stiil more than hold their own. On the other side of the coin I'm currently building the old Renwal military wrecker for a man who served in the Berlin Brigade. I will be posting some in progrees shots as a word of warning to any who might want to build it.

  3. Very, very good work on this one - and a living proof that no kit is too old to be built.
