Well, Part of it Flew

June 9, 2013 · in Armor · · 7 · 1.9K

This is a Iraqi Hussein SS-1C. It was developed in Russia as the Scud B. Iraq started with that & added a auxiliary rocket. The missle fired from a vertical launch position.
The kit is by . It is 1/48th scale but is still 12" long. It is kind of basic & toy-like but hopefully I overcame that.

  1. Al,

Beautifully done. A nice representation of a monster vehicle.
FYI, Google ponytracksranch click on the first and third items. I think you will find this site interesting and self explanatory. In this collection is an SS-1. I'm not sure if it is the same as this one but one is there. There is quite a story on it. Also if you have Google maps, search the address for Pony Tracks Ranch and magnify it. Again you will be amazed.
    I like your work

    • That is an impressive operation. I found a front view of a similar but the cab area doesn't look quite rhe same. Thanks for the compliment.

  4. I always thought that this vehicle looks awesome, like something that the Earth forces would put up in quantity against the oncoming Godzilla... Your model conveys that feeling. Looks great. Thanks for sharing
