F6F-3 Kit award by iModeler

July 21, 2013 · in Aviation · · 9 · 1.1K

A belated thank you for recognizing one of my articles with this award. I appreciate it very much and I have every intention to make this model a future article from me. I truly like Navy an Marine Corps subjects and this will make a very welcomed topic for another article. This kit depicts an aircraft flown by C.K.Hildebrant, an Ace in the Pacific Campaign. As he was born in San Francisco it makes it the more interesting to me. Although this is a "weekend" kit please don't expect me to compete it in short order.

Again, Thank you.

  1. Frank, it's good to see tha package has arrived safely. Well deserved. Thanks for sharing! And BTW, I have never completed a kit in a weekend 🙂

  2. Well deserved, Frank, the standard of your modelling (British spelling!) is an inspiration to me.

  3. good for you Frank you've certainly earned it looking forward to this finished kit in the future I am currently building tamiyas f4u-2 bircage

  4. You're gonna like that Hellcat!

  5. Congrats, Frank!

Is it possible to complete a kit in a weekend? Sounds like a group build challenge...

  6. I know the kit is in good hands. Enjoy it. I just ordered the 1/72nd profi-pac version. Couldn't resist the price.

  7. Hey Frank-Congrats on the kit-well deserved!
Tell you what, if you're up for a bit of fun, lets do a "Week Long" build as I've never been able to build anything in a weekend. You go with the USMC and I'll do a RN Hellcat II. I'll by the burgers and a round of beers too...

  8. Thank you all for the very nice comments. When we find a good week, Erich and I will go at it to see if we can finish models in "one week". Stand by,
