1/12th Revell "Gambler" Chopper

August 4, 2013 · in Automotive · · 3 · 2.5K

As my wife's collection of CRevell Choppers grows, I couldn't help but wonder what all the fuss was about. She just loves building these things, so I thought I'd give one a try. Now, I knew it had to be different from hers, and I a lot more modeling experience to draw upon. I ended up using her advice on more than one occasion.
My first step was to trade parts with the wife. These Chopper kits have interchangeable parts, and her spares box was overflowing. With new wheels, pipes, and handlebars, I was ready to begin.
My first step was to de-chrome almost everything, using "Bleche-wite". It worked fast and well. In addition to the parts swap, I altered the handlebars and took 3/4 of an inch out of the front forks., and eventually re-chromed the front tubes. Using a combination of blacks, I think I achieved the look I was after. It was a lot of fun, and something completely different for me. I can understand why Carol enjoys using these as a "canvas" for her art work. I know it gave me some ideas for a couple more builds...maybe.
Unfortunately, I was only able to download a few of my pics. For some odd reason the pics of the front end just won't go...sorry.

I keep getting this message: Error: TypeError: Unable to get property 'text' of undefined or null reference

  1. That rear tyre looks really cool!

  2. Joe,
Nice job. The rider of this bike would have a very sore @#$ and be very deaf from those straight pipes.

  3. nice scooter
