Another Field Trip….(Pt. II)

August 23, 2013 in Aviation

While in Kissimmee some time back, I noticed a restoration facility adjacent to the hangars where the WarbirdAdventures T-6’s are kept. Further down the tarmac is an outfit called Stallion51. I also took note that there were some additional pics that were not previously published in a prior post. I trust you’ll indulge my decision to share these photos with you. I think you’ll find them entertaining and I hope you enjoy the show. Thanks.

  1. Great pics Craig, can anyone tell me just how you get to own a MiG 21 I mean they don’t turn up on Ebay very often , I’ve often wondered just what governments do with there obsolete military equipment.

  2. Good shots, Craig. That P-38 used to be in the Lone Star Flight Museum in Galveston.

Neil, you can buy Migs all day long from private sellers who get them surplus from Europe. An outfit in Seattle just finished refurbishing a pair of Mig-29’s that they’ll use for military contract work. There was a big flap a few years back about a guy in California who managed to get an F-18 surplus from Uncle Sam. The government screwed up (of course) because they weren’t supposed to sell it in the first place. I think if you went to Europe with cash, there’s no telling what you might be able to pick up…
