1/48 Monogram A1H Skyraider “Mig Killer”

September 1, 2013 in Aviation

One of my favorite episodes of Dogfights is “Gun Kills of Vietnam”. I attempted to portray Clinton Johnson’s aircraft featured in that segment. I still have some ‘tweaking’ to do here and there (I’m waiting for some additional deals as well). I tried best I could to scrape together the appropriate numbers and codes from what I had in the spares box. It was a real PITA tryin’ to get those serial numbers on straight one at a time! A fellow iModeler came to my rescue and offered the entire correct decal sheet from the Tamiya kit (this one is the old Monogram one with the “Bumble Bee” markings). I may either add to what’s there or start over with the new decals – we’ll see how it goes when I get ’em. Thanks, Drew.

  1. Good job done there Craig, I have a soft spot for the Spad, and have in mind getting and building one myself.
