1/48 Tamiya Citroen Traction 11CV Staff Car

September 26, 2013 · in Armor · · 8 · 1.6K

Wanted to build something fast that didn't cost an arm n leg to test out the dot filter technique I see others using. This is the end result. A basic interior, simple chassis and no engine detail to see but the oil pan. Painted using MM panzer grey acrylic, coated with Future then a black oil wash. After that was dry, dots of various color oils were put on and spread around. Maybe to streaky but fun to try none the less. I have other pics but can't get more to load. Aviation subject next...a 109 to sit by the car hmmmm

  1. Came out pretty well...but it's not registered. 🙂

  2. I'd say your experiment was a success !

  3. I love Citroens, even German ones. I think the finish looks good, shame we can't see the rest of the pictures.

  4. Your weathering is very realistic. Nice work.

  5. Your Citroen looks great , what colour oils did you use for your weathering?
    N.

    • White, black, yellow, 2 shades of brown, dark blue and I tried a dark red but it started to shade it towards purple so the front fenders are the only parts with red. The interior was the same dots not the blue or red though. Wish I had some with the body off the seats have that real worn leather look. I like this technique gonna do it more often

  6. Nice job Steve, looks great!
