1957 Chevrolet Mild Custom

October 11, 2013 · in Automotive · · 8 · 2.1K

This started out as a two door sedan. All emblems have been shaved, hood smoothed, chassis given a lower stance & insert applique between chrome removed.
Engine is a big block 409, wired & cooled by a photo-etch electric fan.
Paint is from MCW (Model Car World) & chrome trim is bare metal foil.
I didn't let my camera do it's job on a couple of shots but hopefully you still get the idea.

  1. I love it, Al, please can you build me a real one?

  2. Great looking build, Al.

America is asking you to call..."
I always thought the 1957 Chevy as the best looking Chevrolet of the 1950's. In fact when I see a classic plane, boat, motorcycle, (or anything) I always refer to it's appearence "as classic looking as a 57 Chevy". Nice clean build, great paint job.

All I can say is that it looks real and I wish i owned it.

  5. Myself, I think it's the '57 and '58 Chevys, the '57 being the ultimate development of the new design started in 1955. This one looks really nice.

  6. great work al

  7. Thanks for the positive comments.
