1/32 scale HE 162, No longer a WIP

February 17, 2014 · in Aviation · · 10 · 1.5K

The of Germany rerelease.

Always liked the lines on this fighter and having been a VW nut ("the peoples car") why wouldn't I like the Volksjager ("peoples fighter")

This was a great kit for the money, this is OOB but for those with AMS there are lots of resin and things to add to it. It does show its age as there was flash in a number of places. Easy to clean but annoying just the same. I left of the gun sight because with white glue I just couldn't get it to stick, left of the canopy prop rod and that dangly thing that hangs down from the raised portion cause I just didn't want to screw anything up! So Its done! Kit decals by the way, worked nice but the surface has to be very glossy, lots of setting solution helps though. Paint is MM acryl, did it in the 2 tone green RLM 82 and brownish RLM 81. Not sure if it's accurate but it breaks up the all green and what the heck, this is supposed to be fun right! (also why I left off all the stencils) it's late in the war, they were assembled all over, I say they just didn't bother...thats my story anyway!

Hope U like it comments welcome...really!

  1. A nice job, Steven...I like it.

  2. Looks great! I especially like the way the engine turned out! It would be awesome to have one (or a replica) for real! They've build replica 262s, so maybe someday we'll get to see one fly!

  3. Steven,
No matter if the color is right or wrong this is excellent. You did a marvelous job on this.

  4. that's a fine build

As you said it was built for fun, and that is what this hobby is about.

  7. I like it Steve! To be honest though there isn't anything posted on this site that I don't like! Nice engine detail and an awesome finish.

  8. Looks convincingly like a HE162 to me, Steven, the engine looks especially good.
