5 Significant New Releases from Eduard for 2014

February 9, 2014 · in News · · 15 · 2K

The hands-down biggest news from for 2014 will be an entirely new-tool Messerschmitt Bf 109G-6 Gustav. The company has been showing the first completed sprue of the new mould at the Nuremberg Toy fair, but the final release date is yet TBA.
Rumors say that Eduard also plans for a Bf 109F-2/4 later this year, which may indicate that the Gustav is to appear somewhere around the summer.

The excellent line of 1/48 Spitfires will be gradually expanding. Next in line is the Mk. IXE, featuring the new "E" type wing but otherwise the same plastic as we know from previous releases of this kit. This kit is available immediately.

Another good news is that the 1/48 Spitfire IX is now available in cheaper Weekend Edition series - as a Spitfire Mk. IXc Late version.

Eduard will also continue its tradition of issuing selected Academy kits under its own label,
as limited edition kits upgraded with Eduard Brassin, PE accessories and decal sheets printed by Cartograf.
Next in this line is "Good Morning Da Nang!" - Academy's brand-new F-4B Phantom. This could be the ultimate Phantom kit for advanced modelers.
Release date March 2014.

A smilar February release from Eduard is that of the soviet fighter La-5 in 1/48. This kit uses plastic parts by Zvezda, supported by Eduard Brassin wheels, color photo-etched parts and painting mask, plus a comprehensive decal sheet covering 5 markings, printed by Cartograf.

In 1:72 scale, we will see Mikoyan MiG-15bis ProfiPACK which is scheduled for March 2014 release. Later this year Eduar will also issue a Mikoyan MiG-15UTI two-seater version.

Eduard can also be relied upon to come with a steady stream of photoetched and resin sets. Here is the range of Eduard accessories for Revell's new 1/32 Messerschmitt Bf 109G-6.

  1. The weekend Spit is the one for me ! 🙂

  2. I'd simply HAVE to have a 'new' 48th scale Phantom. And I wouldn't think you could go wrong with something from Eduard.

  3. Snap with you Craig, the Phantomis the one for me, but don`t tell the Mrs...

  4. Just what we need- another 109.

    • I have to agree with that, Neil. I'd like to see a nice new-tool Ki-61/ Ki-100, maybe a new Rufe floatplane.

      • Why do the mainstream moulders just keep churning out the same old stuff time after time, there's probably nothing in that line up that you couldn't build with an existing kit and a set of after market decals, who wouldn't like to see a 1/48 Scimitar or a Skynight etc etc...

    • Neil, I'm with you on the 109 and I'm a 109 guy! If someone were to do another Augsburg Eagle, they should do their homework and produce an accurate 1:32nd scale109F kit. while I think about it, Id like to see an accurate 1:32nd P-51A or B. and a 1:48th scale Tempest II by Eduard or one of the Japanese companies ...but it will probably never happen.

  5. The Mig 15 looks interesting, for sure !

  6. Yes - SO many other mainstream subjects they could have kitted!

  7. Aaaaand Murphy's law of modeling holds up. I have put together decals, seats and scratchbuilt everything and am just about to paint that Phantom. Thanks Eduard, thanks a whooooollllle lot 🙂 Bet they use MK7 seats though, I ended up swapping out their beautiful ones I bought for MK5 from wolfpack to represent the earlier Phantom seats.

  8. The MiG-15 is in 1/48 scale, not 1/72.

  9. Why can't they give us a brand new 1:48/32 Spitfire MkI, and a lovely Donier 17Z...Eh? I actually can't believe the Dornier has had such a lack of interest form companies like Eduard, they would make a bloody fortune!
