iModeler April Awards

May 8, 2014 · in Uncategorized · · 23 · 1.6K

It's time again to award a selection of last month's contributions here at iModeler. In terms of numbers, April was a very good month, bringing a total of 125 new articles and 1331 readers' comments.

As usual, we're awarding the iModeler Best in Show title to the entry that wins the jury's vote, but also list runner-ups as Honorable Mentions. We think that all are great modeling accomplishments that deserve recognition.

iModeler Best in Show - April 2014

The jury agreed that among the many top-notch contributions this month, one model stood out with the photorealistic finish, dynamic presentation and immaculate workmanship. Martin Dytrych's ( @naviatik ) Kinetic E-2C Hawkeye has it all - and wins our Best in Show award for April.

Thanks everyone for bringnig all your inspirational work to iModeler.

  1. Congratulations to Martin and Zoran, and to the honorable mentions.
    All great build.
    Well done to all.

  2. Congratulations to the winners !
Very well deserved. I agree that Hawkeye is breathtaking, as all the mentions.
    Best regards.

  3. Way to go winners!

  4. All fine builds indeed, but the "Best in Show" was obvious to me from the start - it HAD to be the Hawkeye...a masterpiece in modeling.
Congratulations to Martin and all of the contributors.
And a big thank you to iModeler and its' staff for all their work contributing to this site. We all appreciate the hard work, time and effort put forth. Hope it has a long and successful 'run'.

  5. I think we all new Martin's Hawkeye had won it as soon as we seen it! Congratulations, well deserved! Same goes to the rest.

  6. Congratulations Martin & Zoran & to all the Honorable Mentions.

  7. congratulations to both of you. Greatly deserved.

  8. Someday when this sight really gets cooking...there will be individual categories. One for bi-planes,tanks, golden age racers... Martin Dytrych Hawkeye is certainly deserving of all of the praise and devotion that a winning model deserves. However, many of the runner ups have some skills and techniques that are equally as deserving. I'm amazed at level of craftsmen ship, photography, and some of the articles that are being written. Modelers are no longer one trick ponies but, are becoming Renaissance men with several skills and talents.

    • I agree with you wholeheartedly about the modelers here and their varied talents, skills and techniques. But there already exists a section with individual categories...it's called "Groups".

Those modelers who wish to have their build considered for the monthly prize and/or award simply post in "Headlines".

I must admit, I'm guilty of not visiting the various groups section on a daily basis and pretty much just scan the 'headliners'.

However, you mentioned "Golden Age Racers" and that particular genre is absent from the groups section. It's amazingly simple to create a group...you should add an air-racer section, Stephen.

  9. Congratulations!

    Best regards, Vlad

  10. Bravo Zulu to all the fine builders in the "winner's circle".

  11. Beautiful paint for this Hawkeye ! Congratulations !

  12. The Hawkeye is simply the best, but Zoran's Hurricane is also first class, as are all the other prizewinners' models, so well deserved congratulations to all, and thanks, again, to iModeler.

  13. Congratulations to all the winners and honorable mentions, fine work by all of you.

  14. Well done everyone, well deserved.

  15. Congratulations for the winners, good job men

    Eric from France

  16. These are all spectacular models and I'm honored to even be considered alongside them! The Hawkeye does indeed take the cake though!

  17. Always nice to have no complaints about who gets recognized, something that doesn't always happen everywhere.

We should set up a Model of the Year category. I'm pretty sure the Hawkeye would be a contender.

Everything else is really nice, also.

    • "Model of the Year", huh...? The iModeler winner from each month would be automatically entered and perhaps "we the people" would have some input in the way of some sort of nomination(s) from the year's other entries. What say you, Mr. Administrator..?

  18. Congratulations everyone. Awesome work.

  19. Congratulations everyone! Great builds and I really enjoyed looking at the photos that were posted. Great inspiration and a goal set to achieve results that good.

  20. All I will add is my wholehearted congratulations to all of you. All of your individual skills and talents are superb and duly recognized. Great models by al and again congratulations.
