D-Day GB – M4A1 Sherman

June 6, 2014 · in Armor · · 11 · 2.5K

The iconic American medium tank of World War II. My first finished D-Day build model. This is kit with a die-cast chassis. Build thread here - http://imodeler.com/groups/group-build-d-day/forum/topic/d-day-build-148-m4a1/

  1. Superb clean build of an Iconic tank.

  2. Beautifully built and finished, Dimitry. The tracks are especially convincing.

  3. I'm not a big armor fan, but I like this pretty clean build!

  4. That looks wonderful Dmitry, clean as it came out of the water.
    Well done sir.

  5. Nice color modulation on this Dmitry. Hard to make O.D. as appealing as yours.
    Very sharp.

  6. Turned out way better than my thrown-together example seen a few pages back. Nice-lookin' piece.

  7. A few years ago 1/48th scale armor was very limited in choices and few producers, mostly in 35th and 72nd scale can be plentiful. But just like 1/32nd scale aircraft, 48th scale armor has quietly taken off and choices are now plentiful as well as update and upgrades as well. Tamiya is one of those companies that has stepped up in this scale. Dmitry's Sherman is a great example, well detailed well done kit, thanks for sharing.
