Hobby Boss 1/48 Ta-152C-11
This is a German mid altitude interceptor that was brought in at the end of the war but to late to be effective. Hobby Boss' kit is a very nice rendition of this big plane. The kit has positional flaps, ailerons, and rudder. This is a very nice feature which gives the model a more "life-like" look. The cockpit has PE seat belts and it fits perfectly due to Hobby Boss' magnificent location pins. Every other piece slid together and I looked for a while to find some reference photos. This is my first German model ever, I had never liked the idea of painting the German camo. But to my surprise I had a wonderful time painting this plane and I already have a 109 K-4 on my stack of models. From what photos I could find some Ta-152s were stationed on dirt fields so I made mine in a muddy setting. Everything green is Woodland Scenic but the base is foam board covered with putty that I made into mud then painted it different shades of brown. I love this model and I plan to put some figures into it, a pilot and a ground crew. Nate
Nice Focke Wulf, Nathaniel, the Ta 152C was the follow to the Fw 190 series.
The dedicated high altitude fighter was the Ta 152H. The "H" did see some combat at the end of the war, with the Stab./JG 301, the "C" didn t.
Beside that, your Ta looks great, well presented in a diorama. For your Bf 109 K-4 try to put the aircraft number, white 1, for example, more near to the fuselage Balkenkreuz.This was typical on german fighters.

It can be true, that single planes see combat but not in larger numbers. The test center at Rechlin formed combat units with their aircraft on strengh, which included a lot of the prototypes and the so called Vorserienmuster.May one day some photos or reports will "pop up" Have a lot of fun with Luftwaffe birds, i build them since my youth and never run out of markings and paint schemes
Nice 'high flyer', Nate. It would be good also to have a few more close-up photos (if you're confident) to show a little more detail. The middle distance shots are fine, but the macro images also add to the viewing experience.

Fantastic work on that heavy sooth staining. Perfect representation of the poor quality of fuel at the end of the war.
