Fine Molds 1/48 Ki-10 "Perry"

February 15, 2015 · in Aviation · · 8 · 7.6K

This is another older build of mine - an absolute pleasure of a kit to build. If you are looking for a beginner's biplane, give this one a try. Moldings are crisp, and fit is superb. I used a little Mr Surfacer to fill in a few of the joins, but otherwise there was little filing to do. The cockpit is well detailed and most of what you need is there except seatbelts. There is an additional PE fret sold by that includes rigging and some cockpit details, but honestly it is not really needed. The kit provides some very nice rigging mounts with pre-drilled holes, so a few lengths of stiff wire would pop right into those. I used and Lifecolor paints for the camouflage.

The scheme is from a of the 77th Sentai operating in China, circa 1938.
