Polikarpov I-16 diorama – Spanish Civil War

May 17, 2015 · in Aviation · · 11 · 2.8K

Finally finished this a few weeks back and have to say, I was pretty pleased with the results. I tried to make the diorama look ... Spanish. With a little grass and rocks scattered about, with of course the odd dried out grass in places.

The kits are both and hopefully a few figures (when purchased) would make it look better. Also - can anyone please help with the naming of the diorama, cant think of a name?

The Fiat CR42 that the people voted for is on hold for now but will be uploaded when more progress is done

Regards
Michael 🙂

  1. Mike, not one but two! "Mosca" (think that's it) is a neat little plane, and used too long into WW II. The Eduard is a little gem, isn't it?
Good luck with the figures, maybe the ICM WW II Russian ones?
Good work on both of them.

  2. What scale is this, Michael, whatever it is it looks quite small. I'm sure adding figures will add that extra something!

  3. Nice little dio, Michael...just put a plaque on the base that says, " Spain - 1939 ".

  4. Hi Mike, very nice work, will you be showing it at your next day out with the 580 modellers ? I'm looking forward to seeing it.

  5. Nice work - like the use of two different schemes to display the same aircraft.

  6. Great work! I love I-16s, especially Spanish ones.

  7. Michael,
Allow me to add my belated compliments for a great job on these little birds
