SAAF Spitfire Mk VIII – Academy 1/48

This kit depicts a Mk VIII of 2 Sqd Desert Airforce. Deployed as fighter/ground attack during the Battle of El Alamein.

Kit was a MkIX and was converted into a Mk VIII by modifying the rudder and changing the Vokes filter.

    The clipped wing Spits that the SAAF operated in North Africa were by far the nicest looking of all the Marks that the SAAF operated! You did a nice job on this one!
