Shizuoka 2015 #8

And here's the last post with some of the most interesting models and dioramas I saw in the show. Note the really funny mini sub dio with the faucet.
The extremely interesting and original warship creations by ARS NOVA are based on a manga and animation series (or the opposite).
The insects, fish and other models were created by "Craft Factory Shovel Head" and they are always a surprise and pleasure to see.
The "Sweet Home" diorama was my most favorite. It was built by Matsumoto Morio and was featured in the April issue of the magazine "Armour Modelling". It is based on a heavily modified 1/35 Fine Molds Type 95 Light Tank "Ha-Go" to create an experimental Type 4 Self-propelled 12mm Cannon "Ho-To". The house was all scratch built.

Again thank you for the comments and the space. There were 8,000 models from 256 model clubs from all around Japan with thousands of visitors crowding the place so quite difficult to take photos and spot the best models. I have an aversion for jet planes and modern armour so sorry for not including any of them. I promise next year to take more photos of better quality.
Don't forget to visit our blog for photos of Japanese aircraft models from the show:

  1. Certainly not your usual array of show models. Why the "...aversion to jet planes..." ? And don't apologize for the photo's - they were great (and thanks for sharing them).

Modern (post WWII) planes are just not my thing. I find them extremely borrrrrring. Sorry.

  3. A big thank you, once again, for posting all these pictures, although most of them are not especially my "thing", they're certainly interesting.

  4. A fabulously inventive array of modelling subjects and techniques. While the insects are not something I would myself model, I can appreciate the workmanship and attention to detail - I'm reminded of subjects made by Industrial Mechanika. I agree the Sweet Home dio is one of the most interesting you've included.

Thanks again for sharing your experiences.
