1/32 Special Hobby Brewster Buffalo

September 8, 2015 · in Aviation · · 16 · 4K

This is my newly completed from . This aircraft served with 25 Sqn RAAF during the early 1940's at Pearce Airforce base in Perth Western Australia and served in a defensive role due to the threat of invasion by the Japanese.

The kit.

It is a short run injection moulded kit that was built mostly from the box. Whilst not sharing the same prestige as a kit, or even a kit of the same genre, the model builds quite nicely and despite the lack of aftermarket detail parts available, with some small additions was quite fun to build. The model was finished using Gunze Sanyo colours.

Additionsmodifications

Spark plug leads from solder wire
Sliding canopy rails added
Ring and bead sight scratchbuilt from wire
one of the landing light was deleted.
aerial wire from EZ line.

  1. Congratulations are in order again for the excellent presentation of your Brewster Buffalo...well done, sir!

  2. 🙂 ... Greetings ... 🙂 :
    Stunning work, nice paint scheme.

  3. Congrats on producing another stunning model! Well done!

  4. Subtle finishes. It's nice to see oil stains depicted that don't look as if they've been mopped on to the surfaces.

  5. Stunning work!
    Im like.

    P.k

  6. Excellent Buffalo - 1/32 scale does this great little plane justice.

  7. Like all of your models, Eric, this Buffalo has a great finish, very subtle weathering.

  8. Great build and finish. Your touch on the liquid look of fluids seeping back from the cowling is really nice. I always think of the Buffalo in Finnish colors, but this is a nice alternative!

  9. Man, what an exquisite model! Fantastic work there.

  10. Superb, very well executed...

  11. Great work, well done. I really enjoy your work.

  12. Great one! I like the weathering.

  13. Very nice work on a kit I personally know isn't that "modeler friendly," so more kudos for perseverance and ultimate success.

  14. Looks beautiful Eric - good job 🙂

  15. A truly stunning model of an often forgotten - but important - WWII aircraft. You certainly show that Special Hobby short run kits can be turned into masterpieces. Thank you for sharing it.
