1:72 Kinetic F-16D

December 21, 2015 · in Aviation · · 10 · 2.4K

Nice little kit albeit a shrunk down version of Kintetic's 1:48 early version complete with the 'droop snoot' nose error 🙁
She is finished a a plane from the Royal Moroccan Air Force
I think I use Tamiya acrylics on this and the decals were from Pheonix decals World Airpower Update series.

  1. Aha! Something without rigging. 🙂 Very nice, Michelle - I like it!

  2. Michelle, love the choice of markings and color scheme, quite a change from the grey on grey, with grey accents. I'd make my usual comments about Shades of Gray and trying to whip up some enthusiam, but it's early yet.
Give us a group picture of your collection, one day. I'd love to see all the various furrin' markings and schemes. Hey, I'm just this parochial Yank.
Bangladesh! That got my attention. Keep up the good work!

  3. Thank Bernard, I don't build grey planes well totally grey so the F-16s I build are colourful (tail art).
Unfortunately all of my F-16s bar this one were built from 1:48 kits and have now been retired as most if not all are show weary after spending years on the UK show circuit, with the inevitable breakages etc.

  4. Michelle, I have some Hasegawas in 48th, haven't any Tamiyas, yet, though I hear good things. I was looking at Kinetic, but that nose droop sorta put me off. Plus, my pusher, oops, hobby shop had difficulty getting them.

    • In 1:48 the Tamiya is the best, Hasegawa in my opinion is getting a bit long in the tooth. The Kinetic is okay now as they corrected the nose error of the early ones. Revell has a good shape if a little simple in design.
1:72 I've not looked at all the options yet but Revell is winning out over the early Kinetics on accuracy.

  5. 🙂 ... Greetings ... 🙂 :
Very nice rendition of a Royal Moroccan Air Force F-16, much yet one out of the usual color schemes.

  6. One of the reasons I built this one was the different colour scheme.

  7. Another nice build Michelle - I love the various markings you come up with for your finishes! Lots of variety - which I love.
