Airfix 1/72 Bristol Blenheim MK.IVf

December 28, 2015 · in Aviation · · 20 · 2.7K

Along with the Eduard Spitfire and Akagi, this is one of the nicest kits I've built this year. 's new fighter/bomber. My first proper British bomber in over six years! In fact, the only one I've fully finished!

Problems, none of the above! Apart from only the engine covers didn't fit! A common cause apparently on some of these kits. Everything built out of box apart from the seat belts which were masking tape

  1. Michael, really good looking build. You shoulda seen the original one, with the rivets overall, and the wrong engine cowlings, with solid engine shutters. Good for the time, but...
With all that, a favorite of mine. There's just something about British bombers. Heresy for a Yank, but RAF Flying Review warped my mind.
    (That's my excuse this week)

  2. Good to see another neat Airfix kit built, thanks for sharing.

  3. The Blenheim kits (I and IV) are really nice. Everything is there but decals in the MNk. IV kit to do an early and a late bomber.

Just finished a I converted to IF and a IVF converted to a IV (up soon as last builds of 2015). My only complaint is that the cockpit framing is heavier that the original, but these are real gems (like all the other new Airfix stuff).

    Nice work on yours.

  4. Looks really good! Nice build.
