T-33 Hasegawa

February 22, 2016 · in Aviation · · 9 · 1.9K

This my converted to look like a Navy TV-2 that was at Aviation H.S. in N.Y.C. back in the 1970's. as a mechanic trainer. I took a few naps while in my senior year in the front seat.
Decals are from the spares box. Straight out of the box other wise as you can tell. I think the T Bird rest on a pole somewhere in upstate New York.

  1. Bob, welcome! Nice BDU base.

TV- 2 is a favorite of mine, years ago I had the Hawk 1/48th boxing, in NAS Glenview markings.

The museum I volunteer with has a T-33, which we're repainting. Once in a while, we open the old girl up, and visitors can sit in it and they can get their picher (pixture for you folks from Balmer) took. Give it that "Look of eagles" pose.

Nice to see one, maybe I'll get with the program and do the Academy kit as a TV-2. Lotsa red, like Tom Cleavers Beech Bugsmasher.

  2. Is this the 1/72 scale? I've got one to build also - my dad flew the 33 back at Seymore Johnson during pilot training before he went into F-100's.

Nice rendition! It looks very odd with no wing tip tanks - you don't see them that way very often.

  3. Nicely done, sir...like your "tarmac", too. 🙂

  4. Very neat job, Robert, welcome to iModeler!

  5. Very nice Robert, and welcome to the best modelling site on the web.

  6. Excellent especially the NAVY on the side, I may be a bit partial though 🙂

  7. Thanks for the welcome, the site is definitely user friendly. The kit is 1/72 hasegawa. I'm a bit partial to NAVY also, being an ex plane captain on F-4J's.

  8. Trainers/conversions always make interesting models. Nice job.
