Hasegawa 1/72 F-14A Tomcat "Jolly Rogers" VF-84

March 29, 2016 · in Aviation · · 10 · 2.9K

I built this for a Jolly Rogers group build elsewhere a few years ago. I used the kit decals and the Eduard "Big Ed" photoetch set. This was the first I actually managed to finish... no fault of any of the kits I started, I would just run out of steam.

  1. Nice looking kitty

  2. Excellent work in any scale...more impressive given 72nd scale - nice job.

  3. Agree with Craig... I was looking at your pics first and assumed it was 1/48. Very neat work with some tiny, fiddly bits. Kudos!

  4. That's a cracking Tomcat, with the best markings as well! I've never attempted any 1/72 photo etch, it's fiddly enough in large scale! Great build!

  5. Great detail. You've inspired me to pull my f-14 out my stash

  6. Photo etch in 1/72 scale, you've got better eyes and patience than me! A really neat looking model.

  7. Thats a really nice Tomcat Frank, well done. My favourite all time aircraft...

  8. Great looking Tomcat! I think I have this same kit in the stash. Already built one A high-vis version, but I like the Jolly Rogers markings too much, so will probably built it out instead of going low-vis on my second Tomcat.

  9. Great build! I started a Monogram in 1:48 last year and bought a decals set of this interim - grey but still black and yellow - scheme. I hope mine will look like at least half as good as Yours.
