Revell 1/32nd de Havilland Mosquito
This was my first ever large scale build, I'm usually a 1/72nd modeller. Tried my best but got the invasion stripes wrong on the fuselage. I can't say I was enamer'd with this kit. Its an old tool, there was lots of flash and a lot of sanding to do. But for £20 you cannot complain really

Looks fine to me! I do prefer a smaller (1/72) palette to work with but that's just me!

It's certainly a lot of plastic for twenty quid, Steven, and I'm not sure I'd have noticed the stripe problem if you hadn't pointed it out, so definitely value for money, and an impressive model. Are you going to splash out on the Tamiya version?
Steven, I'd argue that they painted the stripes on in a hurry, and got confused. The Flgt/sergeant tells aircraftsman Witless "Paint 'at ere plane, an' be quick about it!" The end result, while serviceable, might not be up to the airworks diagram. Or artistic license. Alcohol was involved, etc.

I believe the ground crews hated applying invasion stripes, because it spoiled their nice shiny aircraft...
We modellers like to apply pristine stripes, but apparently they were anything but, and were regularly patched up, to much grizzling, mutterings and curses by the crews...
Good effort though.
Invasion stripes! PLastered on with a whitewash brush. I saw a photo of a Heinkel being painted black for night time with a floor brush on a long pole. To think of us with our masking tape lol!
