Eduard Focke Wulf Fw 190A-8 1:48 ProfiPack

April 22, 2016 in Aviation

Hello Imodelers, here is my first finished build this year ( yes sometimes something gets finished )
The build has started a while ago together with another of Eduards 190. It was the assault fighter ( Sturmjäger ) A-8/R2, posted here:

Now both are done and a third ( started last fall ) has seen some progress too.

Hope you like this one 🙂

  1. Berndt, whose cowling did you use? Looks more appealing to me than the jigsaw puzzle Eduard gives you. Great job on both!

    • Thank you Bernard, both or better all three are build oob. The Eduard cowling is somewhat fiddly but better as the Dragon cowling that gave me real fits.
These kits are not suited for fast builders, you need to careful align the sub assemblies and thats it.

  2. Great job on this, Bernd….very nicely finished. Good work!

  3. Nice work Bernd, an excellent butcher bird.
    Worth waiting for mate.
    Well done sir.

  4. Beautiful work, Bernd!

Nice to know there’s someone else here who builds as fast as I do! 🙂

  5. Excellent build. superb detailing.

    • Thank you Robert. In my opinion the Eduard ProfiPack kits are the best you can get for your money. That goess not only for their Fw 190 kits.
My current favorite kits are the F-4 Phantom kits, in 1:48, based on the Academy mold there is everything in to get a very well detailed Rhino on display.

  6. Very Very Nice Bernd. Is the black and white spiral prop spinner a decal or did you paint it by hand?

    Congratulations on you fine model.

    • Hello Ralph, the spinner spiral is painted on, i spray the spinner white, than masking with Tamiya tape ( the new gray tape is much better for this ) and than black or black green on.
Thank you very much for the kind feedback 🙂

  7. Great job Bernd, well worth the wait! Cheers Gregor

  8. Sehr sehr gut mein Freund!!! This looks awesome Bernd. Hopefully I can get something finished as well.

  9. Nice pairing, Bernd. Subtle work on the camo.

    • Thank you Rob. The camo scheme is free hand sprayed on. The scheme itself is more or less fantasy, the only picture of that plane i have showing the aircraft as a backdrop for the pilot posing on a horse.

  10. Looks great Bernd! That’s a tricky kit, well done.

  11. Great build! I have heard mixed comments on this Eduard kit. You made a great job. How about the kit?

    • Thank you very much. The kit is complex but well detailed, the wheel wells, cockpit and the cowling have a lot of pieces. If you get the wheel well, underside of the wing and the fire wall properly lined up, everything is well.

  12. Heck, Bernd, I thought I’d had my fill of 190s, but this is yet another great model from you, a good start to 2016!

    • Hello George, thank you very much ! 🙂
Like almost every WWII fighter aircraft you can never have enough of them, many, many interesting versions and paint schemes.
If everything works, the next “roll out” is coming in sight !
