Hello, Moson!

April 15, 2016 · in Show Reports · · 9 · 2.9K

The annual is running this weekend, and we'll be looking forward to the many modeling surprises in the next two days.

Rumors say that a total of 1,400 models have been pre-registered for the competition through the web. This whopping number is almost double the last years' web registrations. Together with all entries to be made on-site, we might be heading for a mind-boggling 2,000 models competition - which would be an all-time-high for this important event in Europe.

I have just arrived at Mosonmagyarovar (Moson to all of us foreigners) this morning with an early morning flight to Vienna, then about an hour's ride on a train. We have been met by a warm spring weather, the usual sleepy atmosphere in the town centre and as yet empty exhibition tables in the town's main university building, modelers from all over Europe just starting to arrive.

It's hard to no love being here. As a foretaste of the things coming, I'm also attaching some quick shots of the very first entrants at the competition tables.

Willkommen, bienvenue, welcome!

Make sure to watch iModeler for many updates from the Moson Model Show during the weekend!

    • Lemme try that again...quite the picturesque little town, Martin... (IIRC, wasn't it raining last time?). The initial entries are really impressive - can't wait to see what else you'll have to offer. By the way, how come none of those posted announcements are in English?

  2. Man - I am drooling already! There is some GREAT talent across the pond! Look forward to seeing the rest.

The sign board reminds you how really international this hobby is. Good thing to be reminded of.
Shame I'll never get to these places, but his is pretty close.
    Thanks, Martin!
