TMF 2016 Show Part 2 (Tulsa Modeler’s Forum)

April 22, 2016 · in Show Reports · · 10 · 2K

I wanted to post a few more pics from our show that another photographer sent to me. Next year I promise we'll get more of what was on the tables! We missed a lot of photos this time around...

  1. Looks like a great show with lots of talented modellers. The Transall transporter and the sailing ships are awesome for example.

  2. Apart from all the nice plastic models to be seen here, I really enjoyed seeing some traditional ship modelling. Hat off to the builder.

  3. Some nice work there, Greg (do I see a couple of familiar-looking display stands?).

  4. Just to let you know I have some extra batteries and other foto equipment coming this next week. No more repeats from this last show.

  5. Next time you photograqph a fully-rigged ship, shoot from the side, not down through the rigging. An auto-focus camera is never going to get that solution anywhere close to right.

    Cheers,

  6. Awesome looking models. The B 58 Hustler looks awesome!

  7. Greg, I especially like the Beaufighter. I've admired them for a long time. Your version is excellent. I have a friend whose (ex) Mother-in-law's late husband had flown them in the RAF. He had many stories about their missions. My friend really "ate them up" whenever the old Gent would feel like talking. Good on ya for such a nice build of such an iconic aircraft.

P.S. - I love the ship(s) but the rigging scares me! My Dad built one of the Revell (I think) models of the Cutty Sark back in the early 60s. He rigged it and it sat on our fireplace mantle for a couple decades. Sadly, I don't recall what happened to it after Dad passed.

    • Jeff - glad you liked the pics. I'm glad the Beau caught your eye, as it is very well done - unfortunately it's not mine! The only two in this particular lot that are mine are the two Corsairs (mounted on stands, as are all my builds).
