Announcing June iModeler Awards

July 11, 2016 · in News · · 15 · 1.8K

It's time for the June retrospective at iModeler - a look back at some of the last month's notable postings. June brought 62 new headline articles that prompted no fewer than 1000 comments.

As per our tradition, we are awarding the Best in Show title to the entry that wins this month's prize, but also list runner-ups as Honorable Mentions. We think that all are great modeling accomplishments that deserve recognition. The jury of the month were @editor, @aisak, @magnusf, @halvarvonflake and @rickard-malmborg.

Every month, all Headline contributions are included in our traditional honorary prize draw. We're looking for the entries that represent the month's highlight in terms of modeling quality and presentation. We also allot an award to a randomly chosen article to emphasize that all contributions to this site deserve recognition.
Please don't hesitate to join iModeler and take part in our next monthly roundup!.

iModeler Best in Show - June 2016

The jury was unanimous in their choice of Brent Thomas Simpson's boat build, the unique SMS ADLER, an Austro- Hungarian Torpedoboot from 1886, built in 1/72 scale from a Wiener Modellbau kit. It's an ambitious project in what can be considered to be a large scale for ships, and expertly executed with a wealth of interesting detail.

Brent's contribution wins the Best in Show title for June!

But wait, there is more! – the Random Award

We are also awarding a prize as a token of appreciation to all our contributors. This is selected through an entirely random draw among all the entries of the month. This time, our lucky winner is Tony V @parkflyer and his "Purple Haze ’71 Hemi Cuda". Tony is a returning car modeler, and we do appreciate being able to follow the progress of all rediscovered hobbies at iModeler!
