Spitfire Mk.IXc late (Eduard 1/72)

August 27, 2016 · in Aviation · · 13 · 1.8K

When you don't know what to build - build another one ! It works all the time. This is the new kit in scale – the second one in a "1/72 Revolution" series after Fw-190. I was very impressed with the detail level, but not with a molding quality – there is some issues with it like flashes. It's not "perfect", but nobody is.

This is completely OOB (but it is ProfiPack edition, so there was some etched parts). Painted with Gunze and Tamiya acrylics, weathered with oils and pigments. Decal quality is very good – film is very thin.

So, if you like Spits and 1/72 scale – this kit is for you.

  1. Immaculate little kit, and a fine build of this iconic aircraft.

  2. This is the first of the new Eduard spit's I've seen built up. Looks great. Nice work Dmitry.

  3. Exquisite workmanship for such a small kit. Very nice job.

  4. Very nice. One small point: the Spitfire had wooden prop blades. I know, hard to believe but true. Thus, no metallic dings on the blades. An easy-peasy fix and then it's perfect.

  5. Excellent Spit.

  6. Nicely done Dmitry.

  7. Looks very neat, Dmitry. Maybe, as I'm mainly a car modeller these days, I would choose a Ferrari if I didn't know what to build...

  8. Very nice looking Spit. Can't imagine PE parts in that scale would cause me to go blind.

  9. Very nice, looks like it's 1/32!

  10. Very nice!

  11. Oh your making it hard on us...who shouldn't be spending more money on models. Looks like this kit is a must have given the painting and professional assembly of the kit.

  12. Great looking Spit! Love your shading and weathering (especially since it's in my scale! :-))
