1/72 Revell Bell 212 BGS
This is the 1/72 Revell Bell 212 BGS (Bundesgrenzschutz) from the disbanded German Federal Border Protection Unit.
The kit is simple though contains enough details for its scale (i.e. engraved panel lines, floats and a crisp decal sheet for the instrument panels).
The build was pretty straightforward OOB with no obvious fit issues. My greatest concern was to find the right color match for this specific unit. Revell suggests "Mossgreen", however I couldn't come up with the exact Revell color (even with the conversion charts). My improvised solution was to mix Gunze's gloss green with small amounts of dark gray in order to achieve the best homemade solution.

That model really shouts out the term "VARIOUS" in the famed HUEY family. I am very much in par with Craig : " a fine piece of modeling (in any scale). " . Very nice modeling and a very good work on a unusual color scheme.

A very neat looking helicopter, that green suits it a treat. I'm sure it must have been the east west border.
