Tamiya, 1/48 scale Panzerkampfwagen 38(t) Ausf. E/F

October 3, 2016 · in Armor · · 8 · 1.9K

's quarter scale armor kits are awesome. This one is no exception. The fit is great and builds up like a dream. leaves lots of time for painting. I used everything in the toolbox to paint and weather...AK primers, Tamiya german gray for the base color, various Mig pigments, Vallejo and AK acrylics, washes, oils, metallic pencils... This is also the first one that I added the commander figure which adds a great sense of scale.

Looks very good Dennis, if no mention was made of the scale, I would not have been aware of that. The paint job as well as the weathering are really well done. You are so right about the comment you made of the figure. It gives the viewer a good sense of scale.
Well done, thanks for sharing the images.

  2. Wow, another armour posting in a week - what's the world coming to?

Great work on the weathering - natural and believable.

  3. Like I've always said, ya can't go wrong with anything that says "Tamiya" (nor is there any such thing as too much weathering on a tank)...nice work.

  4. Looks great! Nicely weathered and finished (the kitchen sink approach paid off!)

  5. Excellent work, great weathering, nice rusted exhaust.

  6. Another great job Dennis! I particularly like the finish on the tracks.

  7. Very Nice! Congrats with this nice piece of work Dennis!

  8. The finish on those tracks is very realistic, excellent work.
