  1. This is a very nice build. The details are amazing. Great job !

  2. Looks like I'll have to put this one on my wish list for Santa. lol

  3. Brian, Excellent looking Tomcat, I do like the VF-41. Your finish gives it a nice & realistic look. Well done!
For pitot tube's I use a 21g hypodermic needle (in 1/48 scale) with a small piece of brass wire glued into the end. I then sand the tip down to the desired shape (point or blunt). Very effective and tough. It also looks great. I do like what you've done here, just passing this on an option for you.

  4. Not easy to make an easy build out of such a complex airframe, but Tamiya really is the best in this respect. Now I wish they would make a 1/48 P-38 to the same building standard some time in the future...

  5. Very smart build Brian. That's a very sharp finish you have achieved.

  6. It's a brave man who puts his intakes under a macro lens. Very nice work indeed.

  7. Nice decent wheathering, Brian.
The kit is on my list, just like on pretty much everybody's, I guess.
Mine will be much filthier though.

  8. Love what you've achieved here but what's the deal with the jet nozzles ?
    N.

    • When the F-14 shut down, one nozzle stayed open while going through the process, while the other constricted. As I recall, it was due to supplying power to the aircraft systems...

  9. Very nice-looking Tomcat! Some nice subtle shading - helps to make these grey-scheme birds have more dimension.

  10. Very nice Brian, even if it is a grey jet. 🙂

  11. Terrific work on 'Fast Eagle 107', Brian! Did you use the new Furball decal sheet for the markings, or the old Detail & Scale sheet?

  12. 🙂 ... Greetings ... 🙂 :
Exemplary work on that TOMCAT Brian.
The weathering and shading looks very convincing.
I applaud your choice on the markings. In my opinion, very historical and very interesting story.
