Resicast 1/35 Ordnance QF 18 pounder with limber and wagon.

November 3, 2016 · in Uncategorized · · 12 · 1.9K

The kit comes as a Mk.II gun but I wanted to build one as used by the ANZAC troops at Gallipoli, so I modified the recuperator of the 18 pounder to the earlier Mk.1 version.

  1. Nicely finished and presented, Bernard...I like it.

  2. Very nice, Bernard. Reminds me of Tommy's War items. Also, the Fusilier make a number of pieces linked to Anzac service.

  3. Bernard, that is a really good model!

  4. Looks very nice, and nicely displayed. Guess it shows that I'm not an armor guy - but what the heck is a recuperator?

    • Thanks Greg, a quick primer on recuperators courtesy of Wikipedia,
"Recuperator" was the British name for the mechanism which returned the gun barrel to its firing position after recoil. US ordnance uses the term "run-out cylinder"

  5. Very nice 🙂

  6. Excellently detailed, well done!

  7. Ditto !

I watched a documentary on Galipoli several months ago. This area of the conflict has pretty much been forgotten by most.

As usual you did a fantastic job with this.
