  1. Some very interesting and rare themes, good ideas, good sense for details.

Very amusing the Stegosaurus from the old Tamiya-kit. Didn't think it's still on sale. So far away from "state of science" compared to the "new" Tamiya-Dinosaurs from the 1990s.

  2. Much more to this type of modeling than slapping together pieces of plastic from an instruction sheet, huh...? Takes a true 'artist' to create such pieces.

    • The naked woman in the window is cleverly used, I think. It's a Masterbox offering that's been around a year or two. On the box art she's shown as bathing in a jungle pool with a couple of soldiers looking on from behind the greenery. I like the different 'take' with the setting, subject matter aside.

  3. These are really great, the best part of the show to me. Yes, Craig, it definitely takes an artist, because it's all got to be thought through, with each element of equal quality, and it has to tell a "story" in a glance, like a 3D painting. I am particularly knocked out by the automotive junkers - it takes real skill to c**p something up realistically, far more than to make one look showroom perfect. Also the snow scenes - that looks damned difficult to get it to look realistic, and they all do - I bet you could fell the temperature go down near the diorama if you put your hand near it. I definitely noticed a couple of Pollocks there - they didn't need the artist's signature to stand out as they do. Kudos all around to the folks who did these.

  4. Good stuff all of them.

  5. Cool. Love the car wrecks.
