The new airfix Ju87 Stuka

November 4, 2016 · in Aviation · · 17 · 3.4K

This is the second build for Model World Magazine, the new 1:48 Airfix Ju87 . Another stunningly good kit, this has some great features, dropped flaps, angled elevators and a brilliantly detailed engine is provided if the modeller wishes to build the kit with the cowlings left off. There really is no competition to this kit - the Italeri and Hasegawa kits are just no match. Again, this is in the December issue of AMW.

  1. Alan, I heard this was coming, thanks for the preview. It's getting so I conclude I should just buy each of their new releases! They seem to fly off the shelves around here, so I'm guessing I'm not the only one. They also sell out fairly quickly, compared to the "old days".

  2. Wow, a real beauty.

  3. Another fantastic piece of work, sir...great job all around.

  4. Love the Stuka, and you did this one well!

  5. Looks fantastic, i was not aware that Airfix has a new tool Ju 87B in 1:48 out, until now !

  6. It would seem that Airfix is offering their own Blitzkrieg of new releases. With some hard hitting and accurate releases aimed at the average modeler. What with the P-40,the B-17 and now this Stuka to wet the whistle and modeling appetite of most. Looks like a must have kit for X-mas. Then there is the announcement that Airfix will be releasing a new P-51D and Hawker Sea Fury in 1/48 ...one wonders will there be enough shelf space for all of these goodies.

Another, smart, tight, clean build Alan. Profession is a good word to describe this build.
    Two thumbs up.

  7. Wow ! Another beautiful plane. I didn't even know that Airfix had this plane coming out. I'm going to be looking for one (or more). It really does look like a great one to build. Fantastic job Sir!

  8. Wow, what a fabulous job. Beautifully built, and thank you Airfix for really stepping up for the 1/48 builders. ( Me ) lol.
The Sea Fury will be amazing when it's released. Can't wait. Great job mate.

  9. Just remembered, back in the 60s, Airfix used to release a 4 engine just before Christmas, recall the Sunderland and the Lancaster. Now, their NEW B-17G. Nice to see the tradition continues.

  10. Ditto all the compliments, a great work.

  11. We had the Hasegawa kit now for years a good kit of the Stuka and the various variants. The old Monogram and some others i cannot recall is all we had for years. Now a new one from Airfix, they are like the Cubs, world champs in the modeling world of aircraft.

  12. Thanks to everyone for all the great comments! I always post these new Airfix builds here as soon as I'm able too as I know you all enjoy them.

  13. 🙂 ... Greetings ... 🙂 :
Nice work on that Stuka Alan, I need to get my hands on one of these new AIRFIX models. I see they are a very far cry from what they were before.

  14. Allan:Really nice work here !, This should be a real winner for Airfix, they are really cranking out to impressive kits here lately.

  15. One for me!
    Another great build
