RQ-7B Shadow UAV (AttackSquardon 1/72)

January 29, 2017 · in Aviation · · 10 · 2.2K

UAVs (or drones) is very popular nowadays (millions was sold during past few years), so it's time for them to enter a scale modeling world. Actually, drones have some advantages, compared to typical aircraft subjects – no interior and no clear parts! No masking build! But I'm just kidding.

It's a resin kit by AttackSquadron (Poland) in scale. Maybe this is the smallest aircraft model I've ever built – wingspan is just above 60mm (something about 2.3"). Resin and photo-etched parts are excellent quality, but it's so small, and it was a real challenge for me to call it done.

Painted with Vallejo acrylics, washes are also from this manufacturer.

Thank you for watching!

PS. AttackSquadron also has this drone in 1/48 scale too.

  1. Nice little build, Dmitry...until I saw that last photo (which clearly shows the inverted V tail), the illusion was that the tail was somehow askew - and I couldn't decipher just what I was seeing. 🙂

  2. I thought that was just a really big zloty at first! Really impressive skills on something that small!

  3. Holy cow that thing is TINY ! Very cool ! How do you decal something so small... Amazing.

  4. I've seen a few drones in other scales, but as you say this absolutely has to be the smallest!

  5. Unbelievable you did such a nice job on such a tiny subject. Nice work.

  6. Thank you all for your comments!

  7. Yup - tiny! Looks nice.

  8. Excellent, Dmitry!
