1/72 Academy Bf 109 G-14 (Erich Hartmann) Winter Scheme

February 11, 2017 · in Aviation · · 22 · 4.2K

No wind in the Valley, so it's picture takin' time !. I actually finished this little gem in June, and then waited for that perfect blanket of white to photograph it. The platform is from the J2F session, enhanced with the real stuff.
This was an OOB build using Tamiya paint, with light weathering.

  1. Very nice! Love that scheme - I need to do a winter camo on a German bird.

  2. It looks much bigger than 1/72 scale, those pictures are great.

  3. Cool model Phil, well done.

  4. Don't see many 'winter shemes' - in anything, really - I like it. Nice job!

  5. Phil, that worked out beautifully! Nothing like a winter scheme on the lean and deadly Messerschmidt.

    • Thanks Bernard ! I'm happy with the results of the build and photos.
I can only imagine how difficult it must have been to start those engines in freezing temperatures. Tuff Lads.

  6. Looks great Phil. Nothing more realistic for snow than the real stuff ! Nice touch. The trees in the background help to make the setting look very realistic. Looks like they just uncovered it getting ready for another sortie. "Bubi" would be proud...

  7. Looks beautiful in the white camo.!

  8. 🙂 ... Greetings ... 🙂 :
I am with Louis here ... this is one that will have made " BUBI " very proud.
    Nicely done.

  9. Very nice build! It's in my stash too. You surely motivated me to dig it up Phil! Michel.

  10. The funny thing about it is... that it just looks... ELEGANT! Nice looking bird!
