Revell 1/48 Dornier Do 335

February 21, 2017 · in Aviation · · 21 · 3.6K

Next on the oddball list: This aircraft was captured by the Americans and turned over to the British. A nice kit that can be built as a single or two seater by virtue of inserts fitted over the spine. I had some fit issues here but nothing that can't be over come.

  1. Really nice work! And who doesn't like the occasional odd ball, right?

  2. Looks Good...better than the one in that last picture! 🙁

  3. Boy, that's two of them recently! I've always liked the aircraft. It looks even better in natural metal. Looks like whoever had it killed the nose gear.

This is the first or one of the first that actually had an ejection seat in the cockpit. I've never heard if anyone had to try it, whilst the various allied pilots were taking their chances with it. One of the names associated with is was Pfeil (arrow) and also ameisenbar (anteater, for the stance of the airframe) Sorry about the missing umlaut, or whatever. Closterman encountered (can't remember) either this or a HE-162. He said they'd turned Germany onto a "conjurers shop".

  4. George, fine work! This is such an interesting bird & in waaaaaay non-standard paint. What's not to like!

  5. My brother gave me this kit when Monogram first released it, still holds up today nice job!

  6. Nice George !. Its got that "not too cared for look" but not over done, and I always like the unusual schemes. Well done !
I read that these were very fast, and could maintain a high speed for a long time.

  7. Compares nicely with mine George - very nice NMF by the way!

  8. Very good, George. These were huge aircraft as single-seaters, and make impressive models. The 1/32 HK version is fantastic but I think your build really brings out the character of the subject.

  9. I didn't see the push-me prop at first in the headline picture and wondered what it was, now I see! Very neat finish on this one.

  10. Great looking rendition of the Arrow! I like your paint work on the NMF.

  11. Interesting scheme! woof woof!

  12. George that's a really interesting looking Arrow. Nicely done.

  13. Thank you very much gentlemen
