1/72 Breguet Alizé

March 31, 2017 · in Aviation · 24 · 3.4K

Hi,

I present to you my last built. I started it in August 2016 and finished on March 4, 2017 ...

This model represents the best know embarked French anti-submarine fighting plane in the heart of the 80's. This Breguet Alizé is stationed on the naval air base of Nimes-Garon in the south of France.

The model is the 1/72 box of AZUR FRROM. This model requires a lot of work to present a plane resembling the true one. The nose on the chin and on the top of the bonnet have been completely reworked. The wings come from the 1/72 MACH2 box because those of the original kits are oddly proportioned and the balloons are disproportionate. The wings taken are better but the balloons are more correct in size but in bad shape.

The auxiliary gear leg comes from the MACH2 and detailed with plastic card, stretched cluster and wire. The auxiliary wheel was fully reworked and the main wheels were made from Mirage F1 wheels.

The pilots are from PJ Production.

The painting is from the enamel Humbrol and the decals taken from different origins.

Best regards,

Eric from France

  1. Now there's something you don't see every day (and a nice job it is, too). Good to see you back, Eric.

  2. Eric, formidable! All that work, just have a good one. Love the airplane, shame she's been so poorly served by the manufacturers. Mind you, I've got the old Heller. Guess antisubmarine isn't glamourous enough.

  3. Actually, "good" is a considerable understatement, particularly given the effort employed and skills displayed, let alone the result. Bravo! First rate!

  4. Thank you so much guys. Yes, i saw this plane all days when i was young. I like this fabulous plane.
This model really requires a lot of work and requires the purchase of a Mach2 kit to retrieve the wings. I post part of the built in the section "work in progress". I really love this plane and I was ready to buy several boxes ... but after this assembly, I give up the other projects.

Thank you so much, best regards,

    Eric

  5. Very nice! You did a great job on it. This is one I don't have in my stash but is on my wish list - you're build makes me want it more!

  6. Impressive work !

  7. Rapid27,

Some real strong work and a real contender for model of the month. I Love the landing gear detail, the attention to the vent intakes and the paint job. Given the provenance of the two kits used to make this build it reads as if you've made a silk purse from a sow's ear or ears and a French one at that.

    Two thumbs up.

  8. You're a braver man than I, Charlie Brown. Doing that kit.

    Very nice result!

  9. Thank you so much men

  10. Beautiful. At first glance I thought it was 1/48! Great attention to detail makes this a winner.

  11. Thank you so much Morne

  12. Eric, a fabulous model. You have gone to so much effort & produced a magnificent result. Congratulations!

  13. Thank you very much Tony

  14. The real thing is so attractive and you've gone to a lot of trouble to build this model, you must be very pleased with the result.

  15. Hi George,

Thank you very much. Yes, it was a long construction and sometimes I wanted to put it in the trash. But I really love this plane and, as you said, I am very happy to reach this stage.

  16. Hello Eric,
A Naval model you do not see everyday. It was brought out in 1/48 scale also (in the stash).
You did a marvelous job on this little plane. It was very succesfull in French naval service. Availability during embarkation on carriers was quite high (despite their age). Was long passed its due date. But no follow-up in the pipe line. Now the E-2C up-date.
I also think personally, that it is a beautiful aircraft to look at.
    Regards, Dirk / The Netherlands.

  17. Hi Dirk,

    Thank so much.

The 1/48 Fonderie Miniature model should be marvelous but need lot of work too.

  20. Magnificent build of this not so every day subject. You made a lot of effort to build this great aircraft and it really stands out. Personaly I like these more unusual subjects, and it's a job very well done.

  21. Thank you so much Ferry. I really love this plane. When i was young i run to the kitchen windows to see it and the F8E fn, the Breguet Atlantic, the P2V7 Neptune...

    Best regards,

    Eric

  22. Lovely looking model of a lovely looking aircraft. Very well done Eric.
